About the Role

As a Cognizant GenC Graduate Engineer Trainee, you will:

• Understand Business Requirements:
  Collaborate with business analysts to clarify project needs, create detailed documentation, and ensure that the technical requirements are accurately captured.
• Develop and Maintain Code:
  Develop, maintain, test, debug, and deploy code according to specified requirements. You will work with multiple programming languages and frameworks, sharpening your full-stack abilities.
• Design and Test Solutions:
  Create low-level designs for software components, develop test scenarios based on data requirements, and execute these to ensure high-quality outputs.
• Adhere to Agile Methodologies:
  Work in an Agile application development environment, following the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and meeting deliverables within defined timelines.
• Collaborate and Communicate:
  Actively participate in project meetings and technical sessions. Your excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively will be vital to addressing project challenges and mitigating risks.
• Continuous Learning:
  Engage in continuous learning by upskilling/reskilling with the latest technologies and industry trends. This is key to thriving in the Cognizant GenC ecosystem.

Key Responsibilities

• Documentation & Clarification:
  Understand and document business requirements; raise clarifications when needed.
• Coding & Debugging:
  Write clean, efficient code; perform debugging and deploy solutions as per design documents.
• Test Scenario Development:
  Understand data requirements and create comprehensive test scenarios.
• Agile and SDLC Compliance:
  Adhere strictly to Agile practices and follow all phases of the SDLC, ensuring reliable and cost-effective solutions.
• Design & Prioritization:
  Create low-level designs, prioritize tasks, and proactively mitigate risks to meet deadlines.
• Team Collaboration:
  Work as an integral member of your project team, contributing ideas and supporting the delivery of high-quality solutions.
• Upskill Continuously:
  Commit to continuous professional development by learning new technologies and acquiring industry-recognized certifications.

Eligibility Criteria & Requirements

• Academic Qualifications:
  Open exclusively to the 2024 batch of B.E/B.Tech/M.E/M.Tech graduates.
  Note: Streams such as Leather, Food, and Fashion Technology are excluded.
• Academic Performance:
  A consistent academic record with a minimum of 60% aggregate in class X, XII, Diploma, UG, and PG is mandatory. No rounding off of 59.9% is permitted. Candidates with any standing arrears are not eligible.
• Flexibility:
  You must be willing to work from any Cognizant office location within the prescribed shift timings and technology requirements.
• Nationality:
  Open to Indian nationals, OCIs, and PIOs currently residing in India.
• Documentation:
  Ensure you have your updated resume with a passport-sized photograph, industry-accredited certificates (if available), all academic documents, and mandatory ID proofs such as PAN card, Voter ID, or Passport.

• GenC Next:
  Designed for students with advanced programming, full-stack abilities, and industry-accredited certificates in technologies like Java, C#, Web Technologies, Python, SQL, Cloud, and more.
• GenC Pro:
  Targets candidates with specialized expertise in enterprise platforms such as Cybersecurity, Oracle, Salesforce, Mulesoft, Pega, SAP, and ServiceNow.

The final hiring category for your interview will be determined based on your overall performance in assessments and interviews.
