Salesforce Summer 2027 Intern: software engineer role for the 2028 batch
Salesforce has opened a software engineering internship for the summer of 2027, and only students who will finish a B.E or B.Tech in 2028 can apply. A 2026 pass-out does not qualify, a 2027 pass-out does not qualify, and neither does anyone who has already graduated. The Salesforce Summer 2027 Intern requisition is JR337715, and it went live on 25 July 2026.
Salesforce files the job category as Fixed Term and Temporary. So this is a fixed-term internship. It is not a permanent job.
Only the 2028 graduating batch qualifies
Two conditions apply, and a candidate has to clear both.
- Enrolled in sophomore year or higher at a college or university, or in any year of a graduate school programme.
- Working towards a B.E or B.Tech in Computer Science, Information Technology or a circuit branch, with graduation in 2028.
The description headline inside the listing calls this a Class of 2028 Intern role, so the batch is stated twice. Anyone who has already finished a degree is out of the Salesforce Summer 2027 Intern race. So is anyone whose final year ends before 2028.
A student in any year of a graduate school programme clears the enrolment condition too. The 2028 graduation year still has to hold. The posting does not describe a selection process and does not name any interview rounds.
The naming looks contradictory at first. The requisition says Summer 2027 while the eligibility names the class of 2028. Read plainly, the internship runs in the summer of 2027, a year before that batch graduates. The posting does not explain the gap itself, so treat this as the plain reading of two dates and nothing more.
The city is not settled either. The Workday listing files the role under India, Bangalore. The description text in the same posting gives Hyderabad or Bangalore. The posting is inconsistent on this point, so confirm the city with the recruiter before you plan around it.
What a Salesforce engineering intern builds
Salesforce hires interns through Futureforce, its university recruiting programme. The posting describes Futureforce as a programme for college students or new grads, and says interns work on live projects. Job shadowing, mentorship programmes and talent development courses come with it.
The posting also says Salesforce hires 80 percent of its eligible interns. That figure is the company's own. It does not say which years or which locations the number covers.
The posting lists this work.
- Turn out software of a high standard inside a fast-moving engineering environment.
- Design, build, test and deploy products along with the development team.
- Build solutions that slot into distributed systems running at large scale.
- Write efficient code that may go out with the next product release.
- Add to the automated test suite and the testing infrastructure behind it.
- Build the tooling that keeps cloud services supported and monitored.
A Salesforce Summer 2027 Intern joins a Scrum team. The posting also mentions owning a service in production with real-time monitoring tools, and delivering quality software through automated testing.
The skills the posting asks for
Salesforce splits its list in two. The required list runs like this.
- Academic, professional or internship experience.
- Picking up new technology quickly.
- Analytical and problem-solving strength.
- Comfort in a fast-paced environment.
- Self-starting and staying self-motivated.
- Explaining a technical problem and proposing a fix for it.
- Taking on ambiguous or undefined problems and thinking in abstractions.
Salesforce labels the second list as desired. It is the technical one.
- Programming in Java, C++ or Python.
- Web development with HTML, CSS and JavaScript, plus a framework such as React, Angular or Vue.js.
- Coursework in SQL and relational database concepts.
- Computer science fundamentals: object-oriented design, data structures, algorithm development, problem solving and complexity analysis.
The Salesforce Summer 2027 Intern posting sets no minimum CGPA and no percentage cutoff. It does not say how many interns Salesforce will take either.
Applying, and openings for students graduating sooner
The Salesforce Summer 2027 Intern application runs on the company Workday careers portal, and the listing was open for applications when this post was written. The requisition is hosted on Salesforce's own Workday site, so no third-party form sits in between. The posting does not disclose a stipend, and no closing date is given in the public posting either.
One instruction in the posting is easy to miss. Salesforce asks candidates to apply to a maximum of three roles in any 12-month period, so that effort is not duplicated across applications.
Salesforce also states that AI tools help its recruiters assess resumes. Humans always make the final selection and hiring decisions. That disclosure sits in the posting itself.
No genuine employer charges a student to apply. Salesforce takes applications on its own careers portal at no cost. If anybody asks you for money for a Salesforce interview slot, an internship confirmation or a training bundle, that person is not from Salesforce. Such requests usually arrive from personal email accounts or chat apps, and the safe move is to stop replying.
If you graduate in 2026 or 2027, this requisition is shut to you. Other listings are open.
- The 2026 batch engineering openings sit on one page.
- Bangalore has a software engineer role at Lam Research.
- Adtran is hiring software engineers in the same city.
- There is a data science internship at Microsoft as well.
Whatever else opens for B.E and B.Tech candidates lands on the engineering jobs page as it goes live.
Every fact above comes from requisition JR337715 on the Salesforce careers site, which you can read in full at the official Salesforce job posting.
